OpenShift Commons Global Momentum Continues; Reaches 150+ Member Milestone

We recently crossed an important and exciting milestone for OpenShift. OpenShift Commons has now grown to over 150 participating organizations as part of our open source eco-system, with representation in more than 18 countries. We have hosted over 20 OpenShift Commons Briefings since we launched back in March of this year.

Notable New Members

New notable members from around the globe include AXA, Fujitsu, Seagate, NetApp, Raiffeisen Informatik, SBB, and, most recently, one that's really out of this world - NASA! However, OpenShift Commons is not just for customers deploying our technologies. OpenShift Commons now includes a number of public PaaS providers such as GetUp Cloud, 99Clouds, AusNimbus, and Cloudyle, who are leveraging OpenShift for use in their own cloud offerings. OpenShift Commons' members include related open source projects, service providers, systems integrators, developers and contributors. All these members are committed to sharing best practices, showcasing new technologies, and collaborating to help make Red Hat's OpenShift the global leader in the cloud application platforms. A Year of Many Milestones

This has been a significant year of expansion for the OpenShift community. We've integrated new technologies into the latest release of OpenShift such as Kubernetes, Docker and Ansible. Red Hat has partnered with Microsoft to bring OpenShift to Azure. We have increased our Online presence to the tune of 2.5M applications created, 1 Billion requests Per day, and added a new Dedicated Hosting service with native Docker support for our enterprise customers.

With the GA Release of OpenShift 3 this past summer, the race has been on to help existing OpenShift 2 deployments migrate to the new OpenShift 3 architecture. Simultaneously we have been onboarding all of the newcomers to the community as they deploy OpenShift for the first time into production.

To meet the demand, the OpenShift community launched OpenShift Commons, introducing a new model for open source cross-community collaboration. With the tremendous response to the OpenShift Commons, we are proud to be celebrating the acceptance of our 150th organization into our community.

This particular milestone is more than just a metric; it's a reminder of the global footprint and the scale of impact our collaborative efforts have each day on the organizations and developers using and contributing to OpenShift. We look forward to bringing the power of OpenShift Commons to many more organizations in the coming year.

They can easily communicate and collaborate across all OpenShift projects and with stakeholders. Commons has been an important channel for broadcasting information about new features and functionality in OpenShift 3.
