Mark your calendars and save the date for this important OpenShift Common Briefing June 30, 2017 @ 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. PDT (New date, same time.)
Kubernetes 1.7 is on target for an end of June release and it’s time for an overview and update from Red Hat’s Clayton Coleman, aka @smarterclayton, on the many new features and functions that are included in this release and to find out what the impact will be on your organization's OpenShift and Kubernetes deployments. Clayton is a core contributor to both Kubernetes and OpenShift, which is Red Hat’s enterprise-grade container platform based on Kubernetes.
The 1.7 release of Kubernetes is focused on extensibility -- an extremely important area for the project. Updates include admission control extension, initializers, crd, and API extension. This release also provides important enhancements needed for broad deployment across the enterprise, including stateful set and daemon set updates. And 1.7 adds new security features, such as secrets at rest, node and pod security, and continued improvements to other storage, metrics, and network policy.
Clayton Coleman, lead architect, engineer, and strategic visionary for application platforms in the cloud at Red Hat will be the OpenShift Commons Briefing guest speaker. Clayton helps set the direction for the evolution of cloud-native applications and the platforms that enable them.
During this briefing, we’ll also get a chance to ask Clayton about the 1.8 release and beyond, so join us with your questions and feedback.
