What inspired you to be a developer?
The idea of creating things that I like.
Why did you choose OpenShift as your hosting platform?
Easy to begin. Supports build automation, easy database setup and configuration. The idea of cartridges is pretty neat.
What advantages does OpenShift give you that other platforms don't?
It supports Java containers. The admin console UI is quite good.
Tell us more about your application currently hosted on OpenShift:
- Name: E-additives
- What does it do? E-additives is an open source web platform that provides web and RESTful API access to information about food additives.
- What technologies were used to create your app? PHP, Postgres, Redis
- What motivated you to create this application and what problems does it solve? The idea goes back to many years ago, when I coded a J2ME app about food additives, what foods they might be found in and what may the dangers of consuming additives be.
